We have a bold mission.
We’re out to change the world, one child at a time.
By partnering with sponsors and acting as the hands and feet of Jesus, we are able to prepare and deliver nourishing meals, provide medical and dental care, and build genuine, lasting friendships. As these friendships develop, confidence and trust is built, allowing for natural opportunities of evangelism to occur.
Mack & Peggy McKeown founded Living Water Ministries in 1980. It was during the time of the Guatemalan Revolution that they served in difficult days, opening dental and medical clinics in the rural, worn torn mountains of Guatemala. They began feeding children in 1983. As they asked others to partner with them by sponsoring children, Adopt A Child was born.
For seven years, Mack & Peggy led this growing ministry. Then, in 1990 Mack passed away. Peggy continued to lead LWI/AAC for 2 more years.
In 1992 Ron and Pat Kelly were called to Guatemala as the new directors. As Ron and Pat strived to reachone more child, one more village, one more country, they were led to expand to Albania in 1995. Being one of the poorest, war torn nations in Europe as well as the only Muslim nation in Europe at that time, they faced great difficulty and persecution.
In 2015, with Ron Kelly’s passing Buford Lipscomb became the International Director of LWAAC and the vision to reach one more child, one more village, one more country continues.
Today in Guatemala over 8000 children are fed at 9 weekly feeding programs and 9 churches are now scattered throughout the region preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. In Albania over 800 children are being fed at 4 feeding programs and there are now 3 churches in this predominantly Muslim nation.
